Springfield, Illonois     The home of President Lincoln

President Lincoln purchased this home in Springfield, the only home he ever owned.

Originally much smaller, Lincoln enlarged the home and added a second story.Lincoln and wife Mary, raised their family (of 4 sons) here before moving to Washington, DC.

Lincolns parlor was the room that he used as an office and for family gatherings.

A more formal room adjacent was used for official gatherings.
