Old Sacramento and Donner Pass

Old Sacramento Old Sacramento is a restoration of the trading area along the banks of the Sacramento River. The area includes many streets, buildings, a railroad station and trainbarn.

Monument at Donner Pass, elevation 7239 This monument is dedicated to the families who made this ill timed journey to the west. The story of their passage is especially sad from the point of view that had they started a mere 5 days earlier, there is a likelihood that they would have succeeded with only the normal losses on the trip.
