The Mormon Experience

Salt Lake City, Utah

"It is enough, this is the right place"

I paraphrase, but the words of Brigham Young were spoken at this site following the hard 1300 mile journey of 1846 from Nauvoo, Illinois, on the banks of the Mississippi River to the Valley of the Great Salt Lake.

Mormon Temple at Salt Lake City

The temple is open to Mormon people who have reached a certain level of belief, so it isn't automatic that all Mormon people enter the cathedral at a certain age, but instead at a point in their lives when they are worthy.

The temple was begun in 1853 and completed 40 years later.
