The Bison (Buffalo) herd in the US is now at about 2000 population. In the early 1700's they numbered 40,000,000.
Guess what? We hunted them to near extinction.
This Bison was at the roadside as we passed, so we obliged him by taking his picture.

We looked for bear, moose and elk but no luck there.
