Petrified Forest and Painted Desert National Park, Arizona

The Petrified Forest has been inhabited by various tribes and peoples for 10,000 years. The formations of petrified wood are the result of the inland sea leaching salts into the porous tree woods, then the wood deteoriated and the remaining forms are solidied salts.
